Charlie And The Chocolate Factory (2005) Alternative Opening Sequence.
For the first CC2222 Motion Graphic Design assignment is to create an alternative title sequences based on our choice of Film or TV Series. I have chosen to create an alternative title sequence of the film based on Roald Dahl's book Charlie and The Chocolate Factory (2005).

This alternative title sequence is inspired by the film X-MEN APOCALYPSE (2016) opening title sequence directed by Bryan Singer. It has a dark-theme with different bright colors and it also have different elements showing, smooth transition from one scene to another. Not only that, but I got inspired by the title designers Richard Morrison, Maurice Binder and Robert Dawson. They usually create dark-themed title sequence, showing the elements from the movies with smooth transition and animation.
[ ALTERNATIVE TITLE SEQUENCE ANALYSIS ]
The Alternative film title sequence made is starting off with the season in the film which is winter so it’s snowing as the title fades in and out. After the two production names shown, the factory slowly fades in while scaling out along with the other production name is fading in and out.
The factory slowly fades in while scaling out to fit the factory on the screen size. The next transition is scaling in to the front big door showing the director’s name. As the title fades out, it scales in more closely to the door and one of the character, Willy Wonka pops out and zoomed in then went to the left side with the cast’s name. Then the character goes back to its original position.
As the character goes back to its original position, the transition went fast and zoom in to Willy Wonka showing a total darkness. A twirl/spiral shown below fades in along with the title of the film. The twirl represents the scene when they were in the Nut Sorting Room from the original film itself. The dark gray background transitioning to the left side with the chocolate bar continuing with the title. The dark gray background represents the conveyor belt used in the big chocolate factory.
It continues with 4 more chocolate bar that showing the wrapper is slowly peeled off. The chocolate bar itself represents the chocolate bar by Willy Wonka with the wrapper showing the message “WIN A TRIP TO WONKA’S CHOCOLATE FACTORY” from the original film itself. There are 5 chocolate bars shown, it represents the five lucky children. Then the chocolate bar’s wrapper is completely peeled off showing the chocolate and the golden ticket. The golden ticket is clearly representing the ticket that is going to be won by the children and is going to the factory. As the golden ticket fade out and showing the back of it with the cast names on it.
As the golden ticket fades out, there is a title showing. The characters such as the five children with their guardians transitioning from right to left along with the titles. The characters representing one of the scenes from the original film which is when they are lining up side by side in front of the factory’s gate. The final scene of the alternative title sequence is the gate of the factory’s opening showing the director’s name.
[ ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR DESIGN PROCESS ]
